The Morris Guesthouse is a project designed for a family looking to convert their existing tractor barn into a new guesthouse, creating new living spaces and bedrooms for their family and friends. The design of the guesthouse was a collaboration with the home owner and ABA Studio. [photography by Durston Saylor]
The barn was converted into a guesthouse with two bedrooms, a guest kitchen/dining area and a lofted living room. The spaces were arranged to afford views of the lake and include covered porches at each room for a tranquil home away from home.
The guesthouse is a 2,400 square foot project that consists of an existing barn adjacent to a larger residence on a lake in Connecticut. Once the project was complete, the owner returned to have us renovate their main residence.
