The East Hampton Cottage was designed for a family looking to renovate and add on to their existing summer vacation home to create new living spaces and bedrooms for their family. The redesign of the existing home and garden was conceived as a series of pavilions situated in the landscape, connected by interstitial living spaces, both indoor and outdoor. The house is allowed to ramble from space to space, unfolding as the home owners traverse from one room to the next.
Attention to detail allowed for this dwelling to become a cozy, personalized space for the owners. The goal of blending modern and traditional styles was successfully achieved, creating a visually appealing and sentimental series of spaces.
